Introduction

Ivalice MUD has been up and running for over 13 years, and is one of the longest running Final Fantasy MUDs on the internet. With 18 Classes and 16 Homelands and an extensive creation process which includes a character's age, hair length and color, eye color and other features to customize a character, Ivalice can be used as a Roleplay home, or a hack & slash fix.

The homeland, put simply, is where your character is from. Each homeland has unique traits and abilities available only to someone from that location.** These abilities range from being able to wield two weapons without the use of special relics, taking to the mountains and mining from ore veins, or even summoning a companion to fight by your side.

The Homelands of Ivalice

A class is one of the most important properties of a character. It not only sets the skills and spells they can learn, but it defines what a character is. You can be Black Mage, schooled in the destructive arts of Fire and Lightning. You can be a BattleRager, a beast on the battlefield, as if driven by demons. You can be a Summoner, bringing powerful beasts from other worlds to do your bidding. The choice is yours.

During your stay on Ivalice a number of individuals will dispatch you to complete tasks and missions for them. The rewards - glory, fame, gold, and most importantly, the all mighty and ever so useful Questpoints.

A game is not worth playing if it does not have places to see. Ivalice is no different. With over 100 active, accessible areas, and over 15,000 rooms, there is plenty to see and do in the Realm. To reach the world map, type "ZONE" at an entrance.

Areas of the Realm

Skills and spells are the driving force of any character, regardless of the situation. They are what get you through combat, and heal you when it's over. There are currently over 560 unique skills and spells in Ivalice, each with their own purpose and use.

After Chaos fell to the Light Warriors, the races of Ivalice began to flourish once more. From sea to mountain, from the grasslands to the forests. From the smallest Tarutaru or Dwarf to the largest Ronso or Galka. The citizens of the world began to prosper together or separately.

Races play little role outside of the RP aspect of Ivalice.

Generations past and the People lived in peace, without the fear of Chaos or his Fiends. But the peace was quickly shattered when a Half-Lunarian by the name of Golbez appeared and stole the Crystals of Light and the Crystals of Darkness for his Master, Zeromus. The Dark Lord was defeated by his brother, Cecil, and together, along with the power of another Lunarian, they killed Zeromus, thus restoring the peace ... For a time ...

Centuries later - After the War of the Magi, The war that destroyed half the world, setting them thousands of years behind, A man called Kefka was raised to the rank of General in the Imperial Army of Emperor Ghestal. He was the embodiment of Evil ... the perfect successor of Chaos. The man used his armies to gain control of The Statues - The Stone Remnants of the Original Creators of Magic - And again changed the face of the world, killing any who stood against him. He burned towns that refused to join him. He killed without mercy using his 'Light of Judgment', until a group, led by a Half-Esper girl, finally put an end to his reign of terror.

The world is once again in darkness, and the people look to the Fates for one who might save them again ...
